Call for Abstracts

The International Conference Energy & Meteorology (ICEM) is calling for papers to discuss the Conference's themes:

  • State-of-the-Science and Challenges in Weather & Climate for Energy
  • Energy Generation — including Renewables and Biofuels
  • Energy Resource Assessment, Planning, Forecasting, Storage
  • Energy Extraction, Transportation, Transmission, Distribution
  • Energy Demand, Smart Grids, Finance and Insurance

Prizes

Prizes will be awarded for Best Oral Presentation, Best Student Paper and Best Poster Presentation. Authors of papers shortlisted for any of these prizes will be invited to submit a manuscript for inclusion in an Energy & Meteorology edited book or in a special issue of a journal.

Abstract Submission Information

Abstracts must be typed in English and use a 12 point font with single line spacing. All abstracts must not exceed 250 words, excluding title, authors and institution. The complete title should be in capitals, underline the presenting author only, do not include titles or degrees. Abstracts submitted can be for oral or poster presentations: please indicate your preference when lodging your abstract. The Conference Programme Committee reserves the right to accept or reject abstracts. Also, the Committee will try to allocate accepted abstracts according to your oral/poster preference but this cannot be guaranteed.

Oral and Poster Presentations

Individual presentations will be 15 minutes in total — 12 minutes for presentation, 2 minutes for Q&A and 1 minute for change of speaker. Posters will be displayed near the exhibition area for the duration of the Conference.

Please note that it is a prerequisite that the presenting author registers for a minimum of one day to ICEM 2011 for their abstract to be included in the final programme.

Notification of Abstract Status

An acknowledgment email will be sent within 7 days of receipt of your abstract. After the review process, an email will be sent to the nominated contact for the abstract by Monday, 6 June 2011 notifying acceptance or otherwise of the abstract as the basis for a paper to be submitted for consideration as part of the conference program.
