Pre-Conference Seminar (download programme pdf)

The Pre-Conference Seminar "Energy & Meteorology: Fundamentals and Challenges" it is an all-day event which will be held on 7 November 2011. The Seminar is targeted at conference delegates (but open also to people not attending the conference) keen to learn more about the energy-meteorology/climate interface, i.e. either professionals at junior level, or specialists in either energy or meteorology. The Seminar lectures are at post-graduate level. Lecturers include:

  • Dr Sven-Erik Gryning (Risø National Laboratory for Sustainable Energy, Denmark)

  • Mr Ian Muirhead (Bureau of Meteorology, Australia)
  • Prof. Roberto Schaeffer (Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil)

 

ASI Solar Energy Forecasting Workshop (download agenda)

The Australian Solar Institute (ASI) Solar Energy Forecasting Workshop is a half-day event – Friday 11 November 2011 – to map a plan for solar forecasting in Australia to enable large scale solar deployment. It will include an overview of potential gaps and requirements, presentations from researchers leading solar forecasting and key related activities in Australia and a discussion on priorities for research and development, including the proposed Australian Solar Energy Forecasting System.
